About

Design and 3D Print Specialist

After studying medicine at Guy’s Hospital in London, I spent 12 years training and working as a General Practitioner. Then in 1995 a change of direction led me to specialise in healthcare computing, acting as a business consultant and working in various teams to help create more intuitive and usable software for doctors to make better clinical notes.  I have now retired from full time work and can spend more time creating.

I have also had a life-long interest in collecting, making and solving mechanical puzzles and have now established my own small puzzle designing and manufacturing business called microcubology. I specialise in inventing complex interlocking cube puzzles that I can print at home and sell in my Etsy puzzle shop.

Lacking the woodworking ability to make my own wooden puzzles, in 2008 I discovered that I could use commercial 3D printing at Shapeways to get my puzzles manufactured, but everything changed in 2011 when I got my first 3D printer kit. I have now built six of my own 3D printers at home and now use these to print all my own puzzle designs and to help other people to create their own objects.

I enjoy the challenge of creating new things and finding ways around problems to deliver quality items and service.
Still growing up slowly!
